Port Forwarding
The VisualRoute Remote Agent needs to connect back to your copy of VisualRoute so that you can use it for testing.
However, we have detected that your computer is on a private network, and is therefore not accessible to other Internet users.
If your network has a router to provide your computer with Internet access, you can usually configure it to make a single port on your computer available to the Internet. This is known as Port Forwarding. Otherwise, if your network uses a proxy server or if your computer has no Internet access at all, click here for other options.
To configure port forwarding, log in to your router’s configuration web page. Port forwarding options are often contained in an 'Advanced' or 'LAN' tab.
Create a rule to forward the port shown in the Create Remote Agent Wizard dialog to your computer’s IP address. (The IP address is also shown in the dialog).
Note that you should enter the port number into the TCP box (or select TCP rather than UDP from the 'protocol' drop-down menu).
If your router has separate settings for the external and internal port, set them both to the same number.
Below are links to further information for some common routers:
Linksys
Netgear
DLink
Belkin
